Baggage Handler
The album Baggage Handler is the outcome of a unique collaboration between musician Dom Mariani and artist Jon Tarry. Recorded at Killerwatt Studios in 2017/18 it is a shared intuitive exploration – of the moments between departure and arrival. Mariani and Tarry construct a sonic framework from the known and an unknown turbulent space. Each track creates a narrative where sound expands in the slip stream of shared memory. They are the ‘Baggage Handlers’ in the journey.
The project came about through shared passion for musical exploration and sonic invention. Baggage Handler was formed following an extended improvised studio session. Dom and Jon felt a studio recording was essential. The artists each with their own legacy generates an interweaving sonically diverse spatial experience. Evocating narrative and non-narrative film scores, each track of Baggage Handler embodies memory of transition, gliding, free falling into dimensions of uncanny where imaginations are released. Titles include, Arrivals, Hold, Hanger18, Air and Missing.
The album, Baggage Handler by Baggage Handler (Jon and Dom) will be released worldwide on multiple media platforms wide July 5 th. The outcome is a full production studio album, some (Jurassic Technology) CD and Vinyl limited editions plus online via iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify other direct downloads.
